About The Position

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Mechanical Engineer needed for a long term contract position with a potential to become a full time position. Starting pay range is $80,000 to $100,000 (depending on education, experience and training). This is a great opportunity to join one of the top manufacturing companies in the Greeneville, TN area.

Provide mechanical engineering services for process, product, equipment, and methods & materials development to the production facility and its customers. Primary focus is to specify, design, and manage the installation of capital projects to improve plant equipment and processes for increased productivity and reduced operating costs. Secondary focus is to provide technical support to the maintenance department in the repair and modification of existing equipment, building and grounds.

Responsibilities

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

50%     Specify, design, and manage the installation of capital projects to improve plant equipment and processes for increased productivity and reduced operating costs. Develop capital cost justifications to support improvements, modifications, and expansions to ensure proper support for manufacturing processes.

20%     Provide engineering services to production supervision and personnel to improve production processes and equipment. Work with production personnel to maintain machine performance to ensure reliable output.

20%     Provide technical direction for the reliable operation of facility auxiliary equipment using preventive maintenance, equipment modifications, outage planning and continual communication with operations personnel and supervision. Provide technical support to production, maintenance, and lab personnel in maintaining production equipment, safety systems, laboratory equipment, and building & grounds.

10%     Support production and maintenance supervision/personnel to ensure compliance 

Secondary Functions

·      Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, salary and budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation, disciplinary action, organization of goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating, and measuring the work performed within the department,

·      Performs such individual assignments as the Engineering Manager, establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the Department, the Group, the Company, and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assignments.

Requirements

Knowledge/Experience/Skills

 Knowledge

·      Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required.

Experience

·      Minimum of Three (3) years of heavy industrial manufacturing experience required.

·      Must be proficient in the application and maintenance of mechanical power transmission equipment, facility auxiliary equipment, process control systems, and CAD software.

·      Must be competent in the application of OHSA, EPA, and other health & safety regulations.
