About The Position

Gem Care has a great Direct Hire opportunity for a Quality Engineer in the Maryville, TN area. Starting pay range is $75,000 to $85,000 per year depending on training, education and experience. These is a first-shift position with an excellent benefits package including Health, Life, Dental, Vision and paid time off.

Responsibilities

Quality Engineers work with all parties involved in the manufacturing process to ensure that parts produced are of the highest level of quality. Successful candidates must have experience with measuring devices (micrometers, calipers), auditing procedures, manufacturing and assembly, tight tolerance machining, and root cause analysis.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Analyzes product, process, equipment and method issues at designated stages of product development and manufacturing
  • Lead and support action to prevent and reduce all costs associated with poor quality
  • Work to maximize product conformance to specified requirements while ensuring best possible manufacturability
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or component
  • Documents data obtained during all quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures
  • Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities
  • Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to management
  • Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality activities
  • Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, math, physics, or a related field
  • Five years’ experience in manufacturing quality or engineering
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen preferred
  • Working knowledge ASQ preferred
